Corsair Masks is a travelling modular show. It is adaptable, time and manner wide, to various possibilities of situations, it is composed by three key ingredients: a joyfull and contagious parade, with live music; some scenes of refined Commedia dell'Arte school, designed to work out even with a foreign pubblic; some interactive encounters with the spectators, based on chants and dances of several popular traditions.
Headed by an exeptional master of ceremonies, the famous Arlecchino of Claudia Contin, the parade goes through the villages and the cities as a fresh invasion of wild Colombines, protected by a snarling Pantalone and served by a truly fnny and cheeky Zanni. But suddenly the surprising changes of costume let appear many other masks, with their lazzi, wih their disputes, with their falling in love.
The parade has a cheerful contagious impact either on the casual passers, either on the spectators, that decide to follow; the scenes and the run-up, the arrests and the displacements can often be dedicated, becose of its content or its esthetical assonance, to the architectural beauties or to the characteristics of the various places encountered; the interactive situation let the public's enthuiasm nicely grow, in the street or in the squares, in the parks, in commercial spaces...
All realized with the style of the rigorous work on Commedia dell'Arte that, thanks to Claudia Contin, distinguish the acting company from the past twentyfive years, and renders it as a protagonist in the renewal of the italian ancient theatre of the masks.
